Prayer Wheels are a series of works, inspired by Tibetan prayers wheels. Tibetan prayers wheels are cylinders with prayers engraved in Sanskrit. It is said that by turning the cylinders by hand, one does many prayers in a short time. Prayer wheels therefore intensify prayers by movement.

Janet Vollebregt is in search of universal metaphysical language and ritual. Her interpretation of prayers wheels includes prayers and positive affirmations from various different cultures, engraved in brass. Her prayer wheels also include crystals or minerals. By touching and turning the crystals and stones, in time they get more polished, as does the spirit of the person that turns the stones.
