Exhibition ‘Que Afeto É ESSE?’
The 6th Edition of Contemporáneas da Vivara by the Brazilian Ministry of Culture and Vivara, brings together 16 female artists reflecting and interpreting ‘Affection”.
The exhibition will take place from 23/09 until 22/10 at Casa Conteúdo, Rua Groenlandia 1089, Jardin Americana, São Paulo, Brazil
It is an honour and pleasure the present my work together with artists Marina Abramovíc, Tarsila do Amaral, Maria Martins, Regina Silveira, Sonia Gomes, D’Anunziata, Raquel Kogan & Rejane Kantoni, Nazareth Pacheco, Graciela Sacco, Thix, Leandra Espirito Santo, Karen de Piciotto, Maria Fernanda Paes de Barros, Mercedes Lachmann, Helena Martins Costa.
Affection is more than just a bond. It is a transformative force capable of altering how we perceive the world, how we act, and how we relate to one another. Often overused as a synonym for the relationship between two people—mediated by a feeling—the word "affect" is being stripped of another, equally important meaning. Affect is also that which impacts something or someone, driving transformation: a sensation, an attitude, an emotion, or simply a physiological reaction that may not always register in our conscious awareness. Seeking to reclaim and broaden the scope of the term, the 6th edition of the *Mostra Contemporâneas Vivara* brings together works created exclusively by women. The exhibition features pieces from existing collections, previously unseen works, and site-specific installations. It is an invitation to observe the invisible layers of existence and to respond—each in our own way—to the question that gives the exhibition its title: "What affect is this, after all?"
